About this event

Our popular Spring Growing Groceries class is taught by seasoned Master Gardeners who specialize in growing food.

Location: WSU Classroom, 121 Oak Bay Road, Port Hadlock

Time: Monday evenings, March 20th – April 24th from 5:30 – 8:00PM, plus two Saturday morning hands-on experiences (April 15th and 22nd)

Cost: $45 class, $50 class + 2 workshops

This 6-week in-person course will focus on the garden essentials for your spring garden. Topics include:• Location & Climate;• Garden planting calendars• Seed Starting and Transplanting• Soil amendments and improvements;• Plant Family/Crop Rotation• Pest management• Pollinator and Beneficial Insects.

Each participant will receive a notebook with WSU publications to supplement the classroom learning.

We also host two workshops 1) hands-on seed starting, different seed starting soil types, seed depth, light requirements; and 2) row covers/season extenders, transplanting, spring soil care and composting.
